Alaska Department of Fish & Game Fish Tickets
The Alaska Department of Fish & Game (ADF&G) fish ticket is a record of purchase and documentation of harvest of a public resource. The fish ticket records the species landed, the weight of each species, the gear used to catch the fish, catch dates, the fisher, the processor, and the statistical area fished. Currently, ten different types of fish ticket forms are used by t he department based on fishery or species harvested. Fish tickets are required for all state-managed fisheries including some fisheries that occur in the Federal Waters of the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). All first purchasers of raw fish and fishermen who catch and sell processed or unprocessed fish are required to record each delivery on an ADF&G fish ticket (5 AAC 39.130). Completed fish tickets must be submitted to a local representative of ADF&G in the area where the fish are landed within seven days after delivery or as otherwise specified. ADF&G distributes fish ticket books upon request to all permitted or licensed buyers/processors/sellers of fish in Alaska.
