During the last 10 days we have received locations for 3 bearded seals, 1 ringed seal, and 9 spotted seals. Two bearded seals, BS16-07-F (dashed yellow line) and BS16-08-M (dashed blue line), are still in Norton Sound. The third bearded seal, BS16-06-M (dashed pale green line), is still west of St. Matthew Island in the central Bering Sea. The ringed seal, RS16-02-M (red line), has moved south of Point Hope into the southern Chukchi Sea. Spotted seals SS16-03-M (pale green line) and SS16-05-M (blue line) are still in the central Chukchi Sea. SS16-06-F (brown line) and SS16-08-M (green line) are along the coastline of Chukotka, Russia. Spotted seals SS16-10-F (red line) and SS16-11-F (purple line) have moved south and are both off shore of Scammon Bay, near where they were tagged on 18 October. The remaining three Spotted seals, SS16-07-M (aqua line), SS16-01-F (orange line), and SS16-09-F (pink line) are in the southern Chukchi Sea. No clear satellite images were available from the NASA Rapid Response Network because of thick cloud cover again.
